2-12-07 – Welcome!

I’m used to seeing new registrants trickle into the blog, and by “trickle,” I mean pretty close to a drought-level flow. I don’t advertise this blog. I don’t post on it regularly enough. Heck, sometimes I forget I have it. It’s not like I’m out there, beckoning in the madding crowd.

That trickle of registrants, often as not, displays email domains not of this country, or even countries that commonly speak close to this country’s language. When I see them come in, like 3k4hckbot @ weirdplaces . fu, I’m thinking, okay, bots and trouble-makers are looking for their version of fun. Sigh.

But today, there is a rash of new registrants with actual, recognizable domains like Comcast, and Gmail, and Yahoo. And the names aren’t same random-looking wad of characters but actual, seemingly reality-based names.

What happened? Did some unknown benefactor send out a tweet? Did a few people happen to finish one of my books, all at the same time, see my credits on that back, and decide to give this site a test-drive simultaneously? Is it just some webhost-driven coincidence?

Whatever it is:  Hello! and Welcome!
